NXT Viewership Drops Against Stanley Cup Final – The June 17 episode of WWE NXT on The CW delivered mixed results in the ratings, as the show experienced a dip in total viewership but posted a notable increase in the all-important 18–49 demographic.
According to data released this week, NXT averaged 660,000 viewers, marking a 9.1% decrease from the previous week. This also stands as the show’s lowest total audience since late May. The decline came as NXT aired head-to-head with Game 6 of the NHL Stanley Cup Final, which proved to be a ratings juggernaut, drawing nearly 2.4 million viewers on TBS alone and dominating the night in overall television viewership.
Despite the overall drop, NXT saw improvement where it counts most—among viewers aged 18 to 49. The show drew a 0.16 rating in the key demo, a 6.7% increase from the previous week, making it NXT’s best performance in that category since April 22. This boost in the demo is a positive sign for WWE, particularly as the company continues to establish NXT on its new broadcast home at The CW.
When comparing this week’s numbers to the same week in 2024—when NXT was still airing on the USA Network—the total viewership is down 8.8%, while the 18–49 demo rating has dropped 38.5% year-over-year. While those long-term figures reflect a broader decline, the week-to-week increase in the demo rating shows potential resilience in NXT’s younger and more advertiser-friendly audience.
The show’s ability to grow its demo number against strong sports competition suggests that the move to The CW is beginning to find some traction, even if total audience numbers remain inconsistent.
