Gail Kim Spotted at NXT Tapings – TNA Hall of Famer Gail Kim has recently been backstage at multiple WWE NXT tapings, according to a new report from Fightful Select. The former multi-time women’s champion has also been seen at the WWE Performance Center on more than one occasion in recent weeks, sparking speculation about a potential return to the company.
WWE sources reportedly confirmed Kim’s presence but clarified that she is not officially signed with the company “as of this moment.” Her appearances have been described as quiet and low-key, with no official role announced or public acknowledgment from WWE.
Kim’s current free-agent status has drawn significant attention. She was let go from her long-held backstage role as a producer with TNA Wrestling earlier this year, a move that surprised many in the industry. Her departure made her one of the highest-profile names available, and both WWE and AEW were reportedly interested in bringing her in soon after.
Kim’s history with WWE is complex. She had two stints with the company—debuting in 2002 and returning in 2008—before making a lasting impact in TNA, where she was widely credited with elevating the Knockouts division and later took on a major role behind the scenes.
While her appearances at the Performance Center may be exploratory, the timing is notable. WWE continues to build its women’s divisions across all brands, and the addition of an experienced talent like Kim—whether on-screen or as a producer—would be a strategic gain. For now, however, there is no confirmation that an agreement has been reached.
