The match began with technical exchanges, as both men fought for control using headlocks, sleepers, and takedowns. GUNTHER attempted to dictate the pace early, but Jey countered with a sleeper hold and bursts of high-impact offense. Jey landed a crossbody and later a suicide dive, but GUNTHER immediately exploited Jey’s taped ribs, delivering stiff knees and removing the protective bandage to intensify the damage.
GUNTHER’s attack became more focused as the match wore on, repeatedly using suplexes, chops, and submission holds to grind down his opponent. Jey continued to fight back, landing a German suplex, a running spear, and a top rope splash for a close two-count. A highlight of the match saw both men trading submissions, including dual sleeper holds and body scissors.
In the closing moments, after a failed frog splash attempt from Jey, GUNTHER locked in a sleeper hold and added a body scissors in the center of the ring. Jey struggled to escape, even briefly reversing position and applying a hold of his own, but GUNTHER overpowered him. He trapped Jey’s arm, landed several elbow strikes to the clavicle, and re-applied the sleeper and body scissors. This time, Jey had no choice but to tap out, handing GUNTHER the win and the World Heavyweight Title.
This outcome not only makes GUNTHER a two-time champion but also avenges his submission loss to Jey Uso at WrestleMania 41, restoring his place atop the RAW brand.
