Chelsea Green Wins Interim WWE Women’s Championship in Chaotic SummerSlam Ladder Match

Chelsea Green emerged victorious in a chaotic ladder match at WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night 2, defeating Jade Cargill, Charlotte Flair, Lash Legend, and Tiffany Stratton to become the Interim WWE Women’s Champion.

The match was set up with reigning champion Rhea Ripley sidelined indefinitely, forcing WWE to crown an interim titleholder in her absence.

Ladder Match Chaos Defines Women’s Division Showdown

The action started quickly, with Chelsea Green making the first attempt to climb the ladder. However, Jade Cargill cut her off and delivered a Jaded onto a ladder wedged in the corner, taking early control.

Tiffany Stratton soon entered the mix, stopping Cargill from climbing before attempting to seize the moment herself. Charlotte Flair joined her at the top of the ladder, knocking Stratton down as Lash Legend brought another ladder into play.

Legend then dropped Stratton onto the ladder in the corner, while Flair climbed again and nearly secured the title. Cargill intervened, pulling the ladder out from under Flair and leaving her hanging before working with Legend to bring her crashing down.

Key Interference and Near Wins

Stratton came close to victory after recovering and taking out Legend, climbing high with a clear path to the championship. Just as she appeared set to win, Chelsea Green returned and shoved the ladder over, sending Stratton crashing onto the competitors at ringside.

Green briefly had the ring to herself, but the situation shifted again when B-Fab and Michin ran down to interfere on behalf of Cargill.

Meanwhile, Cargill and Flair battled at the top of the ladder, knocking each other down in a dramatic exchange that left all competitors laid out.

Chelsea Green Capitalizes to Win Title

With the rest of the field incapacitated, Green was left alone in the ring, draped across the ladder. As the crowd rallied behind her, she slowly recovered and climbed back up.

Green ascended the ladder unchallenged and grabbed the championship, securing the win and becoming Interim WWE Women’s Champion.

The victory marks a major moment for Green, who capitalized on the chaos and timing to capture her first major singles title in WWE.
