London Mayor Renews Push for WrestleMania in London – London Mayor Sadiq Khan has once again made a public appeal for WWE’s biggest annual event, WrestleMania, to be held in the U.K. capital, intensifying the campaign for the first WrestleMania outside of North America.
During a recent interview with CNBC, Khan directly addressed WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, saying:
“I’d love for WrestleMania to come to London. Triple H, if you’re watching, we want WrestleMania to come to London.”
This renewed pitch follows previous discussions between Khan and Triple H in July 2024, as London continues to position itself as a global destination for major sporting and entertainment spectacles.
Khan emphasized the broader cultural and economic impact that hosting WrestleMania could have on the city, stating:
“If WrestleMania came to London… we wouldn’t just have a great weekend, we’d have a festival, of legends… current stars, but also future stars as well.” He added that the event would “open a completely new market for them.”
Khan further described London as the “sporting capital… of the world”, reinforcing his belief that the U.K. capital is the logical choice for WWE’s global expansion.
“If WrestleMania wants to expand, the obvious place to come is London,” Khan declared.
Talk of WrestleMania in London gained traction after John Cena made a surprise appearance at a WWE event in the city in 2023 and encouraged the idea in front of a raucous crowd. That moment sparked ongoing fan support and speculation about WWE possibly breaking tradition and taking its biggest show of the year abroad.
While WWE has yet to make any official announcements regarding future WrestleMania locations beyond 2026, Khan’s latest comments continue to keep London in the spotlight.
