The news was confirmed by RAW General Manager Adam Pearce and SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis.
This year’s format introduces a major high-stakes reward: the tournament winners will each receive a championship opportunity at WWE SummerSlam, facing off against the top titleholder from their brand.
The tournament will feature eight competitors per bracket, divided evenly across RAW and SmackDown. Each brand will host two fatal four-way matches, with the winners advancing to cross-brand semifinal showdowns. The victors from each side of the bracket will then collide at Night of Champions to determine who earns the prestigious crowns—and the SummerSlam title shots.
The tournaments will officially begin next week on WWE television. As of now, no participants have been announced, but talent pools from both brands are expected to be involved.
The return of King and Queen of the Ring adds another layer of intrigue heading into the summer season, especially with SummerSlam stakes on the line and inter-brand competition heating up.
