Triple H Announces WrestleMania 42 Venue Change and Money in the Bank 2026 Date – As noted, WrestleMania 42 will no longer be held in New Orleans, as originally planned.
On Friday, WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H confirmed that the 2026 edition of WrestleMania will be moved to a different location, though he emphasized that the city will still host a future installment of WWE’s biggest annual event.
This comes one day after the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation released a public statement announcing the change. While no new date was given for when WrestleMania will eventually return to New Orleans, Triple H did provide an update regarding WWE’s revised 2026 plans for the city.
During his announcement, Triple H revealed that WWE Money in the Bank 2026 will officially take place on Saturday, August 29, 2026, in New Orleans. The event will be part of a broader expansion of WWE’s relationship with the city and the Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation.
The original statement from the foundation read:
“The Greater New Orleans Sports Foundation and New Orleans & Company are working closely with our friends at TKO to expand our long-standing partnership, which will include UFC 318 on July 19, 2025, Money In The Bank in 2026, and WrestleMania – which will move from the currently scheduled 2026 timeframe to a future year.”
As previously reported by multiple sources, WrestleMania 42 is now expected to be held in Las Vegas. The move is reportedly due to both financial and strategic considerations by TKO Group Holdings, WWE’s parent company. Las Vegas was the site of WrestleMania 41 and generated major revenue for the company. With key executives, including TKO President Mark Shapiro and WWE President Nick Khan, having ties to the city, Vegas is now being positioned as a frequent host for WWE’s premier event.
While the rescheduling of WrestleMania may come as a disappointment to New Orleans fans, the confirmation of Money in the Bank 2026 and the promise of a future WrestleMania still reflect WWE’s ongoing commitment to the city.
