London Mayor Aims to Bring First-Ever WrestleMania to England – On Thursday, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque took to social media to respond to comments made by the Mayor of London, England, Sadiq Khan.
Earlier in the day, Mayor Khan expressed his aspirations for re-election and his desire to bring more sporting events to the country, including the inaugural WrestleMania show in London. “If I’m re-elected on May 2, I’m determined to go even further and fully cement London’s reputation as the undisputed sports capital of the world,” Khan told My London. “I believe that London has the potential to host the first international WrestleMania.”
Following up on X, Khan stated, “London is already the sporting capital of the world. If I’m re-elected next Thursday – we’ll go even further. We’ll look to bring WrestleMania, Superbowl and the NBA to London, and put together another bid for the 2040 Olympics.”
In response, Levesque joined the conversation on X with a straightforward message: “Let’s talk.”
It’s noteworthy that just a week prior, WWE President Nick Khan emphasized in media appearances that WWE’s “Big 4” annual premium live events would remain within the domestic market of the United States and Canada for the foreseeable future. These events include WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, SummerSlam, and Survivor Series.
Last July, John Cena appeared at the WWE Money In The Bank 2023 premium live event in London, where he voiced his desire to assist WWE in bringing the first-ever WrestleMania show to London.
