Triple H Films “Something Special” Ahead of SmackDown – WWE appears to be ramping up promotional efforts for WrestleMania 42, as filming was underway Friday ahead of the June 6, 2025, episode of WWE SmackDown from the Dignity Health Arena in Bakersfield, California.
According to Fightful Select, Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE’s Chief Content Officer, was involved in a backstage shoot tied to future promotional material. A notable line delivered during filming—“anything worth doing, is worth doing twice”—strongly hints at the expected location for next year’s “Show of Shows.”
That phrase is being interpreted as a reference to WrestleMania returning to Las Vegas, possibly Allegiant Stadium, for a second time in five years. As previously reported, WWE quietly shifted WrestleMania 42 from New Orleans to Las Vegas, making the “Sin City” move one of the rare venue changes after an official host city had already been announced.
A black SUV was reportedly positioned backstage as part of the production setup, suggesting the footage could be used for a high-end promo trailer—likely the type WWE unveils during high-profile broadcasts or social media campaigns to launch ticket sales and set the tone for the event’s branding.
The timing of the filming aligns with WWE’s current stretch of major events, including WWE SmackDown tonight, the WWE x AAA Worlds Collide special this Saturday, and WWE Money In The Bank—also taking place this weekend.
With ticket sales, international travel packages, and marketing campaigns all expected to begin soon for WrestleMania 42, WWE is likely getting ahead by capturing cinematic footage for use during RAW, SmackDown, and digital platforms.
No official announcement for WrestleMania 42’s new location has been made as of this writing, but this week’s filming suggests confirmation is imminent—possibly during Money In The Bank weekend.
