Joe Hendry Signs Full-Time WWE Deal – Joe Hendry’s move to WWE appears to be official. According to a new report from Fightful Select, the former TNA World Champion has signed a full-time contract with WWE, ending months of speculation about his future.
Fightful notes that Hendry still had “a number of months that remained on his TNA contract” but used outside representation to begin negotiations with WWE. Although still technically under contract, Hendry quietly shifted focus in recent months. He has not wrestled for TNA since late-September and was absent from last month’s Bound for Glory. He is also not scheduled for this weekend’s Turning Point event or the upcoming television tapings.
Despite his distance from TNA, Hendry has remained active in WWE circles. The 37-year-old has appeared several times for NXT over the past year and even wrestled on three recent NXT live events. His presence on WWE programming has grown steadily since he made his NXT debut in June 2024.
Hendry’s profile rose further when he entered the 2025 Royal Rumble and later stepped in as a surprise opponent for Randy Orton at WrestleMania after Kevin Owens was forced to withdraw due to a neck injury. These appearances fueled speculation that WWE was planning to secure him full-time.
Before his exit, Hendry completed a strong run in TNA. He held the TNA World Championship for 126 days this year and previously enjoyed a lengthy Digital Media Championship reign from 2022 into 2023. His second stint with TNA began at Bound for Glory in October 2022 and quickly established him as one of the company’s most charismatic performers.
While WWE has yet to publicly announce his signing, all indications suggest that Hendry is officially part of the roster. With his blend of personality, crowd engagement, and in-ring skill, WWE now adds another notable name to its growing list of recent acquisitions.
