The Culling Betrays Tatum Paxley as Jacy Jayne Regains NXT Women’s Title – Jacy Jayne has once again reached the top of the NXT women’s division, reclaiming the NXT Women’s Championship in the main event of week one of the Gold Rush special on November 18.
The title change came only 23 days after Tatum Paxley defeated Jayne at Halloween Havoc on October 25, marking the end of Paxley’s short first reign—and the night also answered a question that had lingered for months regarding her partnership with The Culling.
The championship match featured both women arriving with backup. Jayne made her entrance with Fatal Influence members Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid, while Paxley was supported by The Culling: Izzi Dame, Shawn Spears, and Niko Vance. Their presence would ultimately decide the outcome.
Late in the match, Jayne sent Paxley out of the ring, leading to a moment where the referee focused on Jayne, who had grabbed the championship belt. As Paxley rushed back toward the ring to continue the fight, Spears and Vance deliberately stepped into her path, stopping her from sliding back inside. Moments later, Izzi Dame struck, blindsiding Paxley on the floor and tossing her back into the ring. Jayne quickly capitalized and secured the three-count, becoming a two-time NXT Women’s Champion.
The attack confirmed what many within NXT had suspected. For months, The Culling had positioned themselves as Paxley’s allies after she was left emotionally adrift and without support earlier in the year. Although they presented themselves as a source of stability, their actions repeatedly raised doubts about their true intentions. Gold Rush removed any remaining uncertainty. Rather than helping Paxley elevate her title reign, they used her vulnerability to serve their own agenda.
With the championship back in Jayne’s possession and The Culling showing their true colors, Paxley enters an uncertain phase. Her title reign may have been brief, but the betrayal surrounding its end now sets the stage for a new chapter in her story—one focused on retribution, redemption, or perhaps a battle to stand on her own without the allies she once trusted.
