Elio LeFleur Vacates Speed Championship

Elio LeFleur is expected to miss significant time after revealing a serious shoulder injury during a backstage segment on the March 31 episode of WWE NXT on The CW. The update came during a scene featuring Hank and Tank, Eli Knight, Sean Legacy, and the reigning Men’s Speed Champion, who confirmed that he will be sidelined for the foreseeable future.

The segment began with Sean Legacy offering an update on his own status, noting that his ankle injury is healing well and that he expects to be cleared within a few weeks. LeFleur then shifted the tone when he addressed his situation, explaining that he recently learned he has multiple tears in his shoulder. As a result, he will be out of action for approximately six months.

Because of the severity of the injury, LeFleur confirmed that he will relinquish the WWE Men’s Speed Championship. He noted that a tournament to crown a new champion will begin on the April 7 episode of NXT, setting the stage for a new titleholder to emerge while he recovers.

LeFleur’s injury occurred at a recent NXT live event, cutting short what was meant to be his first run as champion. He did not have the opportunity to defend the title before being forced to step away, making the setback especially disappointing for both LeFleur and fans who had been eager to see how he would establish himself in the division.

The Men’s Speed Championship has quickly become one of NXT’s most fast‑paced and competitive titles, and LeFleur’s absence opens the door for a wide range of contenders. With the tournament set to begin next week, the brand now shifts its focus to determining who will carry the division forward in LeFleur’s absence.

For now, LeFleur begins a lengthy recovery process, but his update made clear that he intends to return once he is fully healed. Until then, the Men’s Speed Title picture moves on without him — and the next chapter begins on April 7.
