Former WWE Tag Team Champion Working As a Guest Trainer – According to PWInsider, former WWE Tag Team Champion Doug Basham was present at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida this week, where he served as a guest trainer.
Basham, a standout product of the Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) system, is remembered for his time in WWE during the early 2000s. He is best known as one-half of The Basham Brothers alongside Danny Basham. The duo twice captured the WWE Tag Team Championships and were notable members of JBL’s “Cabinet” faction during his reign as WWE Champion on SmackDown.
Despite being long removed from WWE television, Basham has remained active in professional wrestling, particularly in OVW, which now operates as the official developmental territory for TNA Wrestling. His ongoing commitment to training and talent development recently extended beyond the wrestling ring, as he helped train actress Emily Bett Rickards for her upcoming portrayal of legendary women’s wrestling pioneer Mildred Burke in the film Queen of the Ring.
Basham’s return to WWE in a guest coaching capacity highlights WWE’s continued efforts to involve experienced veterans in shaping the next generation of talent at the Performance Center.
