WrestleMania 42 Host City Still Unconfirmed as WWE Leverages Las Vegas in Ongoing Bidding War – WWE’s search for a host city for WrestleMania 42 in 2026 continues to face unexpected complications, with no official location locked in as of mid-May. Despite growing speculation, Las Vegas—often considered a top contender—has not been confirmed, and WWE executives remain tight-lipped on the subject.
According to Fightful Select, multiple cities are still under consideration, including international options. While Las Vegas is being heavily discussed, internal sources suggest that WWE may be using its name strategically to influence negotiations. The report notes, “Many in the company believe that is a negotiation tactic to encourage cities to bid more.” This has led some to speculate that Las Vegas is being floated to increase competition and secure higher site fees from other interested cities.
One prominent international contender is London, which has long been viewed as a potential WrestleMania destination. However, a significant financial obstacle may be standing in the way. WWE is reportedly seeking a large site fee to bring WrestleMania 42 to the UK capital, while AEW’s approach with All In and Forbidden Door has been the opposite—they pay the city and venue instead. That stark contrast in business models could hinder WWE’s negotiations with London, despite the UK’s growing importance in WWE’s global strategy.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has also been floated internally as a future host, though not necessarily for WrestleMania 42. If WWE were to take the event to Riyadh or Jeddah, it may rebrand the show entirely. One insider suggested it would take the form of a “Super WrestleMania,” similar in branding to the 2018 Greatest Royal Rumble event.
At this stage, WWE is leveraging multiple markets, and the uncertainty surrounding the location of WrestleMania 42 appears to be as much about business strategy as logistics. With less than a year remaining until the event, the clock is ticking for a final decision.
