AEW’s Cash Wheeler Has Arrest Record Expunged – AEW star Cash Wheeler of FTR is officially free of all legal entanglements stemming from his 2023 arrest, as his record has now been completely expunged.
According to a new report from PWInsider, the Florida court system ruled on May 5, 2025, to clear Wheeler’s criminal record. The AEW tag team standout had originally been arrested in August 2023 and charged with one count of aggravated assault with a firearm following an alleged road rage incident. The case had lingered in the background of Wheeler’s career for nearly two years before the final ruling came down last month.
The expungement wipes the incident entirely from Wheeler’s legal history, effectively bringing the matter to a close both legally and publicly. This marks a major relief for the multi-time tag team champion, who continued to wrestle in AEW during the legal process alongside FTR partner Dax Harwood.
PWInsider noted that there was widespread sympathy and support for Wheeler within AEW during the entire ordeal. Backstage sources reportedly believed from the beginning that the allegations lacked credibility. One source told the outlet that the process “wasted a lot of his time and money defending something no one in the company believed he actually did.”
The incident never seemed to impact Wheeler’s standing in AEW, as FTR remained prominently featured on television and pay-per-views throughout the legal proceedings. Now, with his name officially cleared, Wheeler can move forward without the cloud of legal uncertainty hanging over his head.
