Christopher Daniels' Career is Over

Christopher Daniels’ Career is Over – Christopher Daniels’ legendary wrestling career came to a dramatic conclusion at AEW Collision: Maximum Carnage, where he faced Hangman Page in a Texas Death Match.

“The Fallen Angel” gave a gritty performance but ultimately fell to Page after a series of devastating moves, including a tombstone piledriver on a chair, a Dead Eye on a chair, and a Buckshot Lariat to the back of the head. Unable to answer the referee’s ten count, Daniels was defeated in what appears to be his final match.

The post-match scene added a symbolic exclamation point. Hangman delivered Daniels’ own signature Angels Wings finisher to him, a moment resonating with fans as a final nod to the veteran’s storied career.

Daniels debuted in 1993 and became one of wrestling’s most respected performers, competing for WCW and WWE as enhancement talent before finding major success in Ring of Honor and TNA Wrestling. A three-time TNA X-Division Champion and a key figure in the division’s rise, Daniels also captured the ROH World Championship, ROH Television Title, and multiple ROH Tag Team Titles. His innovative in-ring style helped define a generation of technical and high-flying wrestling.

In addition to his in-ring accolades, Daniels entertained fans as the playful Curry Man in Japan and TNA’s masked character Suicide. He also served AEW in a dual capacity, joining as a foundational roster member in 2019 and later working in Talent Relations and as an interim on-screen executive.

As seen below, Tony Khan also took to social media to thank Daniels.

On Friday, we reported Daniels’ effective retirement following the match’s taping. His legacy as a pioneer of modern wrestling and a consummate professional behind the scenes is secure.
