Wrestling Legend Set to Retire After Upcoming AEW Match – Christopher Daniels, a cornerstone of AEW since its inception in 2019, is reportedly stepping away from active competition. The report notes that Daniels had been planning to conclude his in-ring career for quite some time. However, the wrestling veteran has not made any public statements regarding his retirement.
Daniels’ illustrious career spans over three decades. He gained widespread acclaim in Ring of Honor (ROH) and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG), delivering unforgettable matches against Samoa Joe and Bryan Danielson. His tenure in ROH included reigns as ROH World Champion and multiple ROH World Tag Team Championships. In TNA, Daniels became synonymous with the X-Division, earning multiple X-Division Championships and World Tag Team titles.
Upon joining AEW, Daniels continued his alliance with Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky as part of SCU. The trio made history when Daniels and Kazarian became the inaugural AEW World Tag Team Champions. In addition to his in-ring contributions, Daniels has been a vital figure behind the scenes, serving in talent relations and as a producer for AEW.
Though his in-ring career has come to a close, Daniels’ impact on professional wrestling is undeniable, and his presence will likely remain influential in the industry.
