Sources within NXT confirmed that Jazz, who had previously worked in the same role, left a strong impression during her initial time as a coach. Feedback from NXT talent and officials was described as overwhelmingly positive, with one source noting she received “really good feedback” across the board—prompting WWE to invite her back for another run.
Jazz was a standout during WWE’s Ruthless Aggression era, debuting in late 2001 and quickly establishing herself as a dominant force in the women’s division. Known for her intense physical style and no-nonsense persona, Jazz went on to win the WWE Women’s Championship twice. She had fierce rivalries with top names like Trish Stratus and Lita, helping elevate the women’s division during an era that often gave limited exposure to female wrestlers.
In the years since leaving WWE, Jazz has remained active in the wrestling industry, working across multiple promotions including NWA and IMPACT Wrestling. She’s also been praised for her work as a trainer and mentor, which aligns well with WWE’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its NXT developmental pipeline with experienced veterans.
While her return is currently slated as a short-term guest coaching role, WWE has been known to evaluate such stints as tryouts for longer-term positions behind the scenes. With Jazz’s wealth of in-ring knowledge and proven track record, it wouldn’t be surprising if her involvement with NXT were extended beyond just the summer.
