Coachman Claims Britt Baker is Going to WWE – Speculation over Britt Baker’s AEW future has reached a new level following comments made by Jonathan Coachman during an appearance on Behind the Turnbuckle.
The former WWE personality strongly implied that Baker is on the verge of signing with WWE, claiming sources have informed him she is “gone from AEW” and “this close” to making the jump.
Coachman dropped the news live during the podcast, teasing a major female signing and confirming it was Baker after co-host Tommy Carlucci guessed her name.
“Ding ding ding. Gone from AEW, close. My sources keep coming to your boy!” Coachman exclaimed.
He went on to say Baker is not only ready to join WWE, but that the company may already have creative plans for her. He added that her absence from AEW programming is tied to her standing up against internal issues.
“She is ready — so ready. She’s got a built-in storyline, and she got buried because she pushed back. She spoke up about what was happening, and in wrestling, you know you can’t always do that.”
Baker has not appeared on AEW television in several months. While no official explanation has been provided, her absence has fueled a wave of fan speculation, especially amid broader concerns about AEW’s creative direction and backstage dynamics.
However, a key detail complicates the story. In late 2021, Baker reportedly signed a five-year contract extension with AEW, which would keep her under contract until the end of 2026. Unless a release or buyout has taken place — something that has not been publicly confirmed — she would still be legally tied to AEW for another year and a half.
As of now, neither AEW nor WWE has commented on the report, and Baker herself has remained silent.
