AEW and Jon Moxley Sued by Crew Member Over Alleged Injury – AEW and current AEW World Champion Jon Moxley (real name Jonathan Good) are at the center of a new civil lawsuit filed by a former production crew member, who claims he suffered significant injuries during an episode of AEW Dynamite in 2023.
According to Sports Illustrated, crew member Christopher Dispensa filed the lawsuit on May 30, 2025, alleging negligence, civil assault, and battery. The incident in question occurred during a steel cage match between Moxley and Kenny Omega on the May 10, 2023 episode of Dynamite. Dispensa asserts that Moxley acted “off-script” when he allegedly shoved him to the ground during the match, resulting in serious injuries to his neck and shoulder that later required multiple surgeries.
Dispensa claims he immediately reported the injury to AEW’s medical team on the night of the incident. However, he alleges that AEW eventually informed him they would no longer be covering or providing his medical treatment. He also says he has not worked with the company since December 2024.
The lawsuit seeks damages exceeding $25,000, including compensation for medical bills, lost income, and pain and suffering. In the filing, Moxley is accused of civil assault and battery, while AEW is accused of negligence in both hiring and training, with Dispensa’s legal team asserting Moxley has a “history of disciplinary issues.”
AEW sources have strongly pushed back on that claim, telling The Takedown (via Sports Illustrated) that Moxley is viewed as a “locker room leader” and has not been involved in any known disciplinary incidents.
At this time, neither AEW nor Moxley has issued an official public comment in response to the lawsuit.
