Big News on WWE Airing on ESPN to Counter AEW All Out – According to a new report from PWInsider, WWE could be headed to ESPN much earlier than expected. Discussions are underway that could see the company’s next Premium Live Event (PLE) on September 20 broadcast on ESPN. If finalized, the event would directly compete with AEW’s All Out pay-per-view the same night.
PWInsider noted that this move would act as “a preview of the type of programming WWE will bring to that new partnership” with ESPN. The official announcement regarding the event, including its name and broadcast details, is expected sometime this week. While ESPN declined to comment when reached, their deal with WWE to air PLEs in the United States is not scheduled to begin until 2026, which makes this potential broadcast a major early collaboration.
Adding to the speculation, WrestleVotes hinted on social media that the September 20 event could be titled Wrestlepalooza. That name has historical significance, having been used by ECW for a series of shows from 1995 through 2000.
Reports have also pointed to a massive headline match for WWE’s September event: Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena. Their rivalry was reignited at SummerSlam when Lesnar made a shocking return after a two-year absence, attacking Cena with an F5. Since then, Lesnar has not been seen on WWE television, while Cena is scheduled to face Logan Paul at WWE Clash in Paris on August 31.
If confirmed, Lesnar vs. Cena headlining WWE’s ESPN debut would be one of the biggest matches of the year and set the tone for future collaborations between the sports network and WWE.
