The exact nature of her condition was reportedly kept under strict confidentiality, with many in the locker room unaware of the specifics. It is unclear whether she remained backstage once the broadcast went live on Netflix.
The change was made public just hours before the event. Later during the show, commentators Michael Cole and Corey Graves suggested that Naomi could be out of action for “weeks,” putting her planned Women’s World Championship defense against Stephanie Vaquer at WWE Clash in Paris on August 31 in doubt.
Naomi’s reign began when she successfully cashed in her Money in the Bank contract at the WWE Evolution premium live event in July.
