Bayley Teases Major Character Change – Bayley’s recent struggles continued to be a focal point on the August 11 episode of WWE RAW, where the former multi-time champion appeared in a new vignette hinting at a major change in direction.
Over the past several months, Bayley has repeatedly come up short in her quest to capture the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. She failed in title matches against Lyra Valkyria and later Becky Lynch, then lost an opportunity to earn another shot. At WWE SummerSlam, she played a role in costing Valkyria her own championship bout against Lynch.
In the RAW vignette, Bayley reflected on her career and current mindset, noting that she has been in WWE for 13 years yet has never felt this way before.
“I want more and feel nothing. I think it’s my fault,” she said. “I thought I could make a change to the division, be someone people looked up to. Now I’m here. By myself. I feel everything leading up to where I am right now has gotten me nowhere.”
Bayley acknowledged her lack of championship gold and admitted she couldn’t remember the last time she felt proud of herself.
“It’s my fault. It’s my fault,” she repeated, before the segment closed with a piercing sound as she shut her eyes and covered her ears.
Bayley’s last singles win—excluding her double pin alongside Valkyria on June 30—was in April, when she defeated Liv Morgan.
