Brock Lesnar Makes Shocking WWE Return at SummerSlam 2025, F5s John Cena – Brock Lesnar is officially back in WWE. After nearly two year away from the spotlight, Lesnar returned in shocking fashion at the end of Night Two of WWE SummerSlam 2025, attacking John Cena following Cena’s loss to Cody Rhodes in a brutal Street Fight for the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Cena had just wrapped up an emotional main event at MetLife Stadium, where he was defeated cleanly by Rhodes in a match that saw both men lay it all on the line. The bout was a violent, back-and-forth contest filled with signature moves, weapons, and heart-pounding drama. Rhodes eventually reclaimed the Undisputed WWE Championship, becoming a two-time titleholder. After the bell, Rhodes and Cena shared several moments of mutual respect and sportsmanship in the ring.
Rhodes left the stage to let Cena take in the crowd’s reaction—until the atmosphere shifted dramatically. As Cena stood alone in the ring, Brock Lesnar’s music hit, drawing a thunderous response. The Beast Incarnate walked to the ring for his first WWE appearance since losing to Rhodes at SummerSlam 2023.
Lesnar slowly stalked Cena around ringside before charging in. Cena attempted to defend himself with a punch, but Lesnar dodged and planted him with a devastating F5.
Lesnar’s return comes after a long period of absence due to serious legal controversy. In January 2024, Lesnar was named in Janel Grant’s sex trafficking lawsuit filed against Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis. While Laurinaitis has since been removed from the lawsuit after agreeing to cooperate, Lesnar’s alleged involvement led WWE to quietly distance itself from him. He was removed from promotional materials, including WWE 2K24 and the Supercard mobile game.
The lawsuit claimed that McMahon instructed Grant to create explicit content for Lesnar and alleged that a sexual arrangement was included as part of Lesnar’s contract negotiations. Lesnar was also accused of requesting an explicit video and attempting to meet with Grant privately.
Despite these allegations, Triple H repeatedly stated throughout 2024 that Lesnar was not gone from WWE, although his planned Royal Rumble 2024 return was scrapped once the lawsuit details became public.
Now, after a year of speculation, Brock Lesnar is back—and it appears John Cena will be his first target.
