Big Name Emerges As a Potential Buyer for TNA Wrestling – As noted, TNA Wrestling is reportedly moving closer to finalizing a new media rights deal for iMPACT, with expectations to have the agreement completed by October. According to recent reports, WWE has been involved in the discussions, using its connections to assist TNA in securing a deal with one of WWE’s already-affiliated television networks (The CW).
The news of WWE’s involvement has led to speculation that the company could eventually look to acquire TNA outright. While no such acquisition has been confirmed, the possibility has sparked conversations across the wrestling industry. Adding another twist, a surprising name has emerged as a potential buyer for the promotion — former UFC owner Lorenzo Fertitta.
As reported by Fightful Select, Fertitta’s name was brought up during meetings held this week regarding TNA’s future. Fertitta has significant ties to TKO, WWE’s current parent company, due to his long-standing working relationship with UFC President Dana White. Fertitta and White collaborated for years in building UFC into a global brand before Fertitta sold his majority stake in the promotion in 2016.
Sapp noted that the information remains unconfirmed and should be treated as speculation for now. However, he explained that the news was going to surface soon and decided to address it early to provide clarity and context.
If Fertitta’s involvement turns out to be legitimate, it could mark a major turning point for TNA, potentially bringing in ownership with deep combat sports and television business experience, alongside existing connections to WWE’s corporate umbrella.
