Big Update on the Possilbe WWE WrestlePalooza PLE – As noted, WWE is finalizing plans for its next Premium Live Event, set for September 20 in Indianapolis, Indiana. If confirmed, the show would air on ESPN and go head-to-head with AEW’s All Out pay-per-view scheduled for the same night. This would mark the first time a main roster WWE event directly competes with an AEW pay-per-view, as previous scheduling conflicts usually involved NXT specials instead.
According to WrestleVotes, WWE is expected to announce the event soon. The current frontrunner for the show’s name is “WrestlePalooza,” though not everyone inside the company is on board. The report notes that there was some pushback from higher-ups during RAW this past Monday, but the name remains likely.
The September 20 event is already shaping up to feature two major matches. Plans call for Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena in what would be their first singles match since 2014. Lesnar last appeared at SummerSlam 2025, and this match would mark his in-ring return. Cena, meanwhile, would be stepping back into the spotlight for another high-profile clash with his longtime rival.
Also expected is a WWE Championship match between current champion Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre. The two have been building tension on SmackDown in recent weeks, and this bout would serve as the official start of their feud. As always, WWE notes that match lineups are subject to change before the official announcement.
If the current plans hold, the September 20 Premium Live Event could be one of WWE’s most significant of the year, both for its blockbuster matchups and for going head-to-head with AEW on the same night.
