SPOILER: Former WWE Star Debuts at AEW Collision Taping in Glasgow – AEW’s ongoing tapings in Glasgow, Scotland, featured a surprise debut as Isla Dawn made her first appearance for the company.
During the Collision taping from the OVO Hydro, Megan Bayne was scheduled for a singles match with no opponent announced beforehand. The surprise reveal came when Glasgow’s own Isla Dawn emerged to face Bayne, receiving a strong hometown reaction.
Dawn’s signing adds another notable name to AEW’s growing women’s roster. She was released by WWE earlier this year after a seven-year stint with the company. During her time there, she achieved championship success, winning both the NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles and the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles alongside her partner Alba Fyre.
In her debut AEW match, Dawn went one-on-one with Bayne but ultimately came up short, with Bayne securing the victory. Despite the loss, the debut marked a significant career move for Dawn, who had been highly regarded for her work in WWE’s NXT UK brand before transitioning to the main roster alongside Fyre.
Her debut in her home country adds an extra layer of significance, and AEW will now look to see how Dawn factors into the women’s division moving forward following her surprise introduction at the Collision tapings.
