Omega, Swerve, Willow & The Opps Win Brutal Anarchy in the Arena at AEW Double or Nothing – The tradition of absolute chaos continued at AEW Double or Nothing as Kenny Omega, Swerve Strickland, Willow Nightingale, and The Opps (Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, and Katsuyori Shibata) overcame The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, and Marina Shafir) and The Young Bucks (Matthew & Nicholas Jackson) in this year’s Anarchy in the Arena match.
From the opening bell—accompanied by the surreal mix of “I’m So Excited” by The Pointer Sisters and then “Bodies” by Drowning Pool—the match lived up to its reputation for unrestrained violence and innovation. Claudio Castagnoli abruptly ended the music when he swung Swerve into a speaker, kickstarting the mayhem.
Among the many jaw-dropping moments: Omega hit a moonsault from a balcony, Swerve launched himself off a forklift, and Willow Nightingale was viciously trapped by her earring around a ring post. Elsewhere, staple guns were used with shocking brutality—targeting both the groin and tongue.
The surprise return of HOOK added another layer of unpredictability. Out of action since April, he reemerged to take out Castagnoli before calmly walking away from the brawl.
Just when The Death Riders and The Bucks gained the upper hand, Gabe Kidd intervened on their behalf—only to be neutralized by Mark Briscoe, who returned to even the odds. The tide fully turned when The Opps locked the Death Riders inside an ambulance, isolating The Bucks against Omega and Swerve.
In the final moments, Omega drilled Matthew Jackson with a One-Winged Angel through an exploding table, while Swerve crushed Nicholas Jackson with a Swerve Stomp wearing thumbtack-laced shoes to seal the win.
This year’s Anarchy in the Arena delivered another chapter of violence, spectacle, and storytelling—cementing the match as AEW’s most unpredictable annual tradition.
