Young Bucks Reportedly Sidelined Following Brutal Anarchy in the Arena Match – AEW may be dealing with a setback involving two of its most prominent stars. Following the chaotic Anarchy in the Arena match at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view on May 25, both Matthew and Nicholas Jackson — collectively known as The Young Bucks — are reportedly banged up and not expected to compete in matches for the next few weeks.
The Anarchy in the Arena match featured a 12-person tag team clash with Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta, Marina Shafir, and the Young Bucks facing off against Swerve Strickland, Kenny Omega, Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, Katsuyori Shibata, and Willow Nightingale at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale, Arizona. The match lived up to its name with wild brawling and high-risk spots, culminating in a victory for the babyface team.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez discussed the post-match condition of the Bucks and other AEW talent.
“Yeah, I heard Nick Jackson was pretty banged up from that [match],” Meltzer said.
Alvarez added, “Both Bucks were apparently all banged up from that match, and they weren’t the only ones. There’s a lot of banged up people in that company.”
Meltzer noted that while the Jackson brothers may still appear on AEW programming in non-wrestling roles, fans should not expect them to compete in matches for at least a couple of weeks.
“So I think that they’re not going to be back in action for a couple of weeks. As far as being able to wrestle, they might be on TV or do angles, but I don’t think they’ll be able to do a match just yet,” Meltzer stated.
This news comes at a time when AEW is looking to build momentum toward upcoming summer events. With the Bucks potentially sidelined, plans for The Elite’s next in-ring storyline developments may require short-term adjustments.
