EVIL made his NXT debut during the April 28 episode of WWE NXT on The CW, creating a new development around the NXT Championship picture.
The segment featured Tony D’Angelo addressing potential challengers. He also focused on a mysterious box that had been delivered to him on the April 21 episode, which featured Japanese war-related symbols.
As D’Angelo spoke about the situation, the lights went out inside the WWE Performance Center. EVIL then appeared in the ring. Before revealing his face, he handed D’Angelo a cloth marked with the same symbol from the box.
The two stood face-to-face briefly before EVIL exited the ring without further confrontation. Commentary identified him by name and referenced his past as a former IWGP Heavyweight Champion. His departure from New Japan Pro-Wrestling earlier in 2026 set the stage for this appearance.
The EVIL NXT debut adds a new name to the title picture, with his actions suggesting a potential challenge for D’Angelo moving forward.
The show also introduced additional names to the brand.
The opening match saw Myles Borne defend the North American Championship against Saquon Shugars of DarkState. Borne retained the title despite outside involvement.
After the match, Tristan Angels appeared in the crowd and addressed Borne, signaling interest in the championship. As Borne reacted, Kam Hendrix made his presence felt by attacking the champion from behind.
Hendrix, also known as Anthony Luke, has previously appeared on WWE LFG on A&E and has been active on house shows and EVOLVE. His arrival adds another name to the North American Championship scene.
Angels, who began his career in 2022 and is 22 years old, continues to build momentum as a rising talent.
The EVIL NXT debut, along with the introductions of Hendrix and Angels, marks a notable shift in the roster heading into upcoming NXT programming.
