John Cena Shuts Down R-Truth Chants After Attacking Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso – The final segment of the June 6 episode of WWE SmackDown featured a brutal beatdown as John Cena and Logan Paul dismantled Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso just 24 hours before their showdown at Money in the Bank.
Cody and Jey opened the segment with a fiery promo. Cody took a jab at Cena’s recent alliance with Logan Paul, saying, “Seeing Cena with Logan Paul is like seeing Michael Hayes with the Hardy Boys. Desperate is WrestleMania 41. Throwing away all that goodwill for a title.” He added that their match at Money in the Bank isn’t just about a title—“it is a showdown.”
John Cena made his entrance to a thunderous reaction and his signature self-introduction. Before tensions could cool, Logan Paul struck from behind, ambushing Jey Uso. He tried to blindside Cody as well, but Cody blocked the punch—only to get nailed with Cena’s title belt. Cena then planted Jey with an Attitude Adjustment, and Logan followed up with the Paulverizer on Cody. Moments later, Logan delivered frog splashes to both men, leaving them sprawled in the ring.
As Rhodes and Uso were tossed out of the ring, Cena grabbed a mic and told the crowd to “take a good look. No one is coming to save you.” He claimed, “I’ve been telling you this for half a year. Your dream of what the WWE is will be ruined. This is your future.” He described himself and Logan Paul as “the last real champion and the moment maker,” calling Paul “the inevitable future face of WWE” and “the future world champion.”
Cena then brought Cody back into the ring and delivered another Attitude Adjustment. Logan followed by dragging Jey back in and landing another brutal punch.
As the crowd chanted “We Want Truth,” Cena silenced them by channeling Jack Nicholson with the line, “You can’t handle the truth!” He then turned on the audience, shouting, “Your truth is right here, staring you in the face. There is nothing any of you can do about it. You hypocrites chant for truth. You are all pathetic liars.”
Closing the segment, Cena looked around the arena and delivered a final message: “Take a good look because this is my last time in Bakersfield. Remember these words. Winners write the history books. Your future champion and the last real champion.”
Cena and Logan stood tall with the titles raised, sending a loud and ominous message to Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso before Money in the Bank.
