Seth Rollins’ New Faction Dominates SmackDown

Seth Rollins’ New Faction Dominates SmackDownWWE SmackDown on June 6 was dominated by Seth Rollins, whose presence was felt from the opening segment to the final moments of the show. Backed by Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed, Rollins made a clear statement: he believes he is the future of WWE, and he’s taking control by any means necessary.

After their confrontation with The Bloodline, Rollins, Breakker, and Reed launched a vicious assault on Money in the Bank participants LA Knight, Andrade, and Penta. The attack left all three men laid out, further signaling that Rollins is willing to eliminate anyone in his path to ensure his rise to the top.

Following the beatdown, Paul Heyman took the mic and delivered a passionate, ominous speech that echoed Rollins’ earlier words.

“They feed not the future because, like it or not, they are the future,” Heyman began, responding to the boos from the crowd. “Why would you boo that?”

He continued, “Seth said before WrestleMania what this industry was becoming—and it happened. He said they would get Roman out of the way—and they did. Seth said they would take CM Punk out of his misery—and they did. Everything that Seth Rollins says becomes true. Don’t you get that? Don’t you get that Seth is the vanguard of the future? They are the vanguard of the destiny of WWE.”

Heyman then turned to what comes next: “Tomorrow, Seth Rollins becomes Mr. Money in the Bank. And when he does, at his leisure and discretion, it will be who, what, where, and when. We already know the why—to solidify the power that comes with the title. Then Seth will propel this entire industry into a future that is a vision all of his own.”

As Heyman began his signature line—“the reigning, defending…”—Cody Rhodes’ music hit, cutting him off.

The Undisputed WWE Champion walked down the aisle and entered the ring, locking eyes with Rollins. There were no punches thrown, no words exchanged publicly. Rollins leaned in and said something directly to Rhodes, which was not picked up by microphones. Whatever was said, it clearly left an impression. Rollins then exited the ring with Breakker, Reed, and Heyman, leaving Rhodes alone in the ring to close the show.

The consistent use of the phrase “the future” throughout the night—by both Rollins and Heyman—strongly suggests that it may be the official name of Rollins’ new faction, although that has not yet been confirmed by WWE.

Rollins made his intentions crystal clear on SmackDown: destroy the past, dominate the present, and control the future. With Money in the Bank on the horizon and Cody Rhodes standing in his way, the future may arrive sooner than anyone expected.
