Changes Coming for WWE Ring Announcers – As WWE rings in the new year, both RAW and SmackDown are set to undergo significant transformations. These changes include expanded runtimes, new broadcasting platforms, and updates to key on-air talent, signaling an ambitious start to 2025.
Beginning this Friday, SmackDown will expand to a three-hour format. The move is part of WWE’s effort to bolster its flagship shows. Meanwhile, next week will mark the debut of RAW on Netflix, which also transitions to the standard three-hour runtime. This change comes as RAW bids farewell to USA Network, its home for over three decades, and enters a new era on the popular streaming platform.
In addition to the scheduling changes, WWE is refreshing its ring announcing teams. Lilian Garcia, a beloved veteran of WWE, will take over as the ring announcer for SmackDown starting tomorrow. Garcia recently rejoined the company full-time in October following Samantha Irvin’s departure. On the RAW side, Alicia Taylor will step into the ring announcer role when the show makes its Netflix premiere.
The commentary teams are also being reshuffled. Joe Tessitore will lend his voice to SmackDown, bringing a fresh dynamic to Friday nights. Over on RAW, Michael Cole and Pat McAfee will reunite, rekindling the chemistry that has made them a fan-favorite pairing.
These updates underscore WWE’s dedication to enhancing its programming as it embraces new opportunities in 2025, ensuring an exciting experience for its global audience.
