BREAKING: Ronda Rousey Makes ROH Debut – Ronda Rousey has made her way into Ring of Honor (ROH)!
At a recent taping for an upcoming episode of ROH TV held at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, California, on November 17, reports from fans in attendance flooded Twitter, confirming Rousey’s participation in the event.
Rousey teamed up with Marina Shafir in a tag-team match against ROH Women’s World Champion Athena and Billie Starkz. This match was a rematch from their encounter at Wrestling REVOLVER Unreal on November 16. In their previous bout, Athena used the title to strike Rousey, resulting in a disqualification win for Rousey and Shafir.
The finish was Athena nail the Eclipse on Rousey but the referee wouldn’t count the finish as she wasn’t the legal competitor. Starks went for a swanton but Rousey caught her and locked on an armbar, forcing a submission. After the bout, Athena tried to hit Roysey with the ROH Women’s title belt but Rousey stopped her and taunted her with the title belt.
Everyone worked super hard in a real physical bout that received “holy sh**” chants several times and also “ROH’ and “This is awesome” chants. Rousey looked super happy after the match and did a round around ringside taking selfies and high-fiving fans.
Rousey’s involvement in ROH comes after what seemed like her conclusion with WWE following her loss to Shayna Baszler in an MMA Rules Match at WWE SummerSlam on August 5. As a former RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion, her presence in the wrestling world continues to attract attention and intrigue.
At this point, there’s no official word on whether Rousey’s appearance in ROH suggests more involvement with either AEW or ROH in the future. Fans eagerly await further updates on Rousey’s wrestling endeavors.
