Earlier we reported on WWE’s claim that Shinsuke Nakamura was injured and the injury would keep him from challenging for Jeff Hardy’s United States Championship.
It turns out that the injury is real but it was not something that took place in the ring. Dave Meltzer is reporting that Nakamura worked on the live event on Monday in Bakersfield, CA and he was bit by a police dog in the arena, presumably after the show was over.
The timing is unfortunate for Nakamura and WWE because he is advertised as one the headliners for the shows taking place in Japan this weekend. We don’t know how long he will be out of action but we’ll pass along updates when we get them.
