Update on Cathy Kelley’s New WWE Role – Cathy Kelley, a familiar face on WWE’s broadcast team, is reportedly preparing for a career pivot within the company, as plans are now in motion for her to take on an on-screen managerial role.
Earlier this week, we noted how Kelley has been taking part in in-ring training sessions and participating in promo classes—an early indication that WWE may be grooming her for a new role outside of broadcasting. Now, according to Dave Meltzer in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, those plans are confirmed. Meltzer reported that “she has been training recently there, and right now, the working idea is to be a manager.”
Kelley initially joined WWE in 2016 and served in various backstage interview and hosting capacities before departing the company in early 2020. She made her return in 2022 and has since resumed her role as an on-air personality, often seen conducting interviews on RAW and at premium live events.
The transition to a managerial role could present a fresh direction for Kelley, especially as WWE continues to develop new talent and refine character dynamics across its programming. There’s no word yet on which Superstar or faction she may eventually be paired with, but her ongoing promo and in-ring training suggest the company sees potential in utilizing her beyond commentary and interviews.
WWE has a history of successfully transitioning non-wrestling personalities into managerial roles, and Cathy Kelley’s blend of charisma, mic skills, and WWE experience could make her a natural fit.
As of now, there is no official debut date set for her managerial role, but fans can expect to see more developments in the coming weeks.
