Saraya Open to Reviving “Paige” Character – In a new interview with Andro Mammo, Saraya-Jade Bevis—best known to wrestling fans as both Saraya in AEW and Paige in WWE—shared her thoughts on possibly returning to professional wrestling and what form that return might take. For longtime fans of her work in WWE, the former Divas Champion had a clear message: she’d love to bring back Paige.
“I would take Paige again. Yeah. I love that character. I love Paige. I love the music. I love that she was a badass,” Saraya said with conviction, emphasizing her emotional connection to the character that catapulted her to stardom. Paige rose to prominence during WWE’s “Divas” era as a rebellious, anti-diva force, known for her gothic style, hard-hitting offense, and fearless demeanor. Her debut on the main roster in 2014 saw her win the Divas Championship on her first night, setting the tone for a trailblazing career.
By contrast, her recent work in AEW under her real name explored a very different side of her character. “Saraya was a different character in AEW. It’s more like a chicken sh*t heel, which was fun, but I preferred Paige, for sure,” she admitted. While she enjoyed the opportunity to play a heel in AEW, it’s clear that the edgier, more intense persona of Paige remains her favorite.
Looking toward the future, Saraya also opened the door to a hybrid version of her wrestling identity. “And if I was to be Saraya, it would be a Paige version of Saraya,” she explained, indicating that any future return to the ring under her real name would likely draw heavily from her most successful WWE persona.
Saraya hasn’t wrestled since her departure from AEW in early 2025. Her time in AEW included a brief run as AEW Women’s World Champion, but many fans still associate her most with the groundbreaking moments she created in WWE, particularly in the early years of NXT and the women’s revolution.
While there’s no confirmation yet of a return to wrestling, Saraya’s comments suggest that if the opportunity arises, she’s more than ready to step back into the ring—with a familiar edge.
