WWE SmackDown on June 13: John Cena, Naomi, and Jacob Fatu Set to Appear – WWE has officially announced several key appearances for tonight’s post-Money in the Bank edition of SmackDown, which will broadcast live from the Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky.
Headlining the episode is Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena, who is set to address the fallout from last Saturday’s tag team main event at Money in the Bank. Cena teamed with Logan Paul in a losing effort against Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso, a match that took a surprising turn when Ron Killings (R-Truth) returned and interfered. Despite the loss, Cena is now preparing for his next title defense, which comes against CM Punk later this month at Night of Champions in Saudi Arabia.
Also confirmed for tonight’s broadcast is Naomi, who won the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match this past weekend. With the briefcase in her possession, Naomi holds the power to cash in on any champion over the next year. That could mean danger for Tiffany Stratton, the current WWE Women’s Champion, as Naomi’s victory places her in immediate contention for the top spot in the women’s division.
Jacob Fatu, the reigning United States Champion, is also set to appear. At Money in the Bank, Fatu turned babyface after finally breaking away from Solo Sikoa and JC Mateo. The moment marked a significant shift in the ongoing Bloodline saga, and tonight we’ll hear from Fatu as he begins the next chapter in his rivalry with Sikoa. This will be Fatu’s first appearance as a fan-favorite on WWE television.
Additionally, tonight’s show will feature more matches in the ongoing King and Queen of the Ring tournaments, as the brackets continue to unfold leading into the next major premium live event.
Here’s what’s confirmed for the June 13 episode of WWE SmackDown:
- Appearance by Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena
- Appearance by Women’s Money in the Bank winner Naomi
- Appearance by United States Champion Jacob Fatu
- King and Queen of the Ring tournament matches continue
