Update on Alexa Bliss’ WWE Return Being Put on Hold – A major report this week shed light on why WWE fans haven’t seen Alexa Bliss make her much-anticipated return. According to PWInsider, plans for Bliss to rejoin WWE programming have been shelved for now, despite initial plans for her to appear on RAW several weeks ago in San Jose.
Reportedly, Bliss was set to return as part of a storyline involving The Wyatt Sicks, a faction recently moved to SmackDown. However, WWE creative was directed to scrap all plans involving Bliss, and the faction’s future direction will now be independent of her involvement.
Dave Meltzer further elaborated on Wrestling Observer Radio, revealing that Bliss’ absence is tied to unresolved contract negotiations. He stated, “The deal with Alexa Bliss is she was supposed to be on the show in San Jose, and there’s a contract. They have not come to terms on a contract, but she was going to debut. The thing is, she was going to debut against the Wyatt Sicks, but the Wyatt Sicks have been moved to SmackDown, so it kind of made no sense for her to be on RAW.”
Bliss is currently under an older contract signed before she stepped away from WWE to welcome her first child. While she was ready to make her return, no creative plans have been pitched for her participation in the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
As it stands, Alexa Bliss’ return appears to hinge on resolving her contract situation with WWE. Fans will have to wait to see when—or if—the former multi-time Women’s Champion makes her comeback.
