WWE Reportedly Considering a Heel Turn For The New Day

WWE Reportedly Considering a Hell Turn For The New Day

A change is on the way for former WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day.

Xavier Woods will be out of action for several months (and possibly up to one year) so Kofi Kingston and Big E will have to move forward as a two-man team but the feeling on the group from WWE management is that a change is needed.

On Friday’s episode of SmackDown, Kingston and Big E lost to Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler. Fans have also been pointing out how Kingston lost the WWE Championship to Brock Lesnar several weeks ago and Kingston is just going on as if nothing happened and his loss to Lesnar hasn’t been focused on too much.

According to Wrestling News this will be addressed soon in a big way and there has been talk about doing something different with The New Day. There have been suggestions made to break up Kingston and Big E but sources report that a heel turn is what Vince McMahon has been seriously considering.

The New Day heel turn idea is not new. WWE was considering turning them heel in late 2016 when they lost the Raw Tag Team Titles to Sheamus and Cesaro because the feeling was that the group was getting stale but merchandise sales were so strong that the heel turn idea was scrapped.

Kingston and Big E will be part of the Tag Team Turmoil match at Crown Jewel this Thursday. The match will also include Heavy Machinery, The B-Team, The Viking Raiders, Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode, Lucha House Party, Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins, The Revival, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson.
