How Can WWE Convince AJ Styles to Stay

How Can WWE Convince AJ Styles to Stay

AJ Styles is widely regarded as one of the greatest in-ring performers of all-time and although it took some time, particularly because of how stubborn WWE chairman Vince McMahon is, the company finally started acknowledging Styles for all his talent and all he can give to the WWE in the near future.

Styles made his WWE debut in the 2016 Royal Rumble and even though he was one of the hottest free agents in wrestling, The Phenomenal One didn’t have it easy at first. Many expected him to be a midcarder at most but he proved his worth over time, getting loud reactions from fans all over the world after delivering incredible matches, forcing the company to push him to the moon.

Now, almost three years later, AJ Styles is considered one of the greatest WWE superstars of all-time. The Phenomenal One’s success within the company speaks volumes and Vince McMahon is leaving no stone upturned, looking to make him the biggest thing in professional wrestling but his contract expires soon and rumors suggest Styles and McMahon are negotiating a blockbuster deal.

The former WWE Champion is currently scheduled to have his rematch with Daniel Bryan at WWE TLC on December 19 but for now we wonder what can Vince McMahon offer AJ Styles in his new contract?

A lighter schedule

AJ Styles is 41 years old and he has to keep himself healthy and fit. WWE is putting more emphasis in ensuring the health and security of their superstars, so the two-time WWE Champion could end up with a lighter schedule, just like Randy Orton. In a recent WWE 365 special on AJ Styles, he opened up on how much he misses his family, so WWE could offer him a different schedule so he can sign a new long-term contract with the company.

A Royal Rumble win and the WrestleMania 35 main event

It’s no secret that every WWE Superstar wants to main event WrestleMania and now that Roman Reigns had to walk out from the company to battle leukemia, his absence creates opportunities for potential WWE Universal Championship challengers at WrestleMania 35. Seth Rollins, Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre are decent options to challenge Brock Lesnar but AJ Styles would make a lot of sense.

Daniel Bryan is now on top of SmackDown Live as the WWE Champion, so Vince McMahon could make The Phenomenal One win the Royal Rumble and face Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 35, leading to AJ Styles becoming…

The new face of Monday Night Raw

What Vince McMahon admires more about AJ Styles is that although he was never meant to be a main event superstar under him, he still managed to ascend to the top of the industry in no time. WWE now knows how versatile Styles really is and he’s already used to being the face of a brand, so a Royal Rumble win next year and a WWE Universal Championship reign would mean that The Phenomenal One has to move to Monday Night Raw.

Styles ruled SmackDown LIVE for over two years and now it’s time for him to start the next chapter of his career, which would make Raw a more compelling show and give him new dream matches against the likes of Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, Drew McIntyre and a rematch with Finn Balor, just to name a few.

A dream match with Shawn Michaels

Speaking of dream matches, Shawn Michaels vs. AJ Styles is a match that wrestling fans have wanted to see for a long time and Vince McMahon even considered the idea for last year’s WrestleMania. That plan didn’t work out in the end but now that the Heartbreak Kid has returned to the ring, a clash with The Phenomenal One could motivate him to re-sign with WWE. If this match ever happens, sportsbooks will certainly offer betting odds on it, just like they do for all major WWE pay-per-views. Form The Bullet Club with Finn Balor on Monday Night Raw

AJ Styles could form The Bullet Club if he moves to Monday Night Raw. Finn Balor’s character has become pretty stale and he is stuck in midcard hell, so joining forces with The Phenomenal One and Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, who are also stale, could resurrect their careers and make Raw must-watch. The Shield won’t return for a long time and The Undisputed Era is still in NXT and WWE needs a faction to make things even more interesting in their main roster shows. Styles admires Finn Balor, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, so he could convince Vince McMahon to let him bring the Bullet Club to WWE.
