Steve Austin Reportedly Open to One More Match – WWE Hall of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin may not have closed the door on his in-ring career. According to a new report from Fightful Select, Austin has privately suggested to multiple individuals that he “might have one more in him,” hinting at the possibility of another match if the right opportunity presents itself.
The report notes that several sources near WrestleMania weekend this year indicated Austin was at least considering the idea of wrestling again. This follows his highly publicized return at WrestleMania 38 in 2022, where he competed in his first official match since 2003 and defeated Kevin Owens in the main event of Night One. That return was seen as a fitting send-off, but recent comments and internal chatter suggest the door to the ring hasn’t fully closed.
In addition, Fightful confirmed that WWE approached Austin about a potential match with Roman Reigns for WrestleMania 39 in 2023. While that bout ultimately did not materialize, Austin did participate in multiple WWE-related appearances during WrestleMania week this year, even as he claimed TKO Group Holdings had yet to contact him directly.
Internally, the idea of another Austin match has sparked considerable interest. Multiple WWE superstars have reportedly expressed interest in sharing the ring with him, and one name frequently mentioned in creative discussions is CM Punk. Punk’s recent return to WWE has only amplified speculation about a potential high-profile clash between the two veterans.
At this time, there are no formal plans in place for Austin’s return to action, but the report emphasizes that he has not ruled it out. While not actively pushing for a match, he remains open to competing again if the timing and scenario make sense.
