Asuka Advances to Queen of the Ring Finals at Night of Champions – On the June 20 episode of WWE SmackDown, Asuka earned her spot in the Queen of the Ring Tournament finals with a hard-fought victory over Alexa Bliss. The match delivered a physical back-and-forth contest as both women aimed to move one step closer to crowning glory.
The bout began with a traditional lock-up and early technical exchanges. Alexa Bliss used a side headlock and shoulder tackle, but Asuka absorbed the impact. The action escalated quickly, with Bliss hitting a back senton and Asuka answering with a hip attack that sent Bliss to the floor. Alexa managed to knock Asuka off the apron with a dropkick, but the former Grand Slam Champion recovered and brought the match back inside.
Midway through, Asuka gained control with a series of stiff kicks, a missile dropkick, and her trademark Kawada-style strikes. Bliss responded with a flurry of offense including a blockbuster, a DDT, and several near falls, showing impressive resilience and ring IQ.
As the match neared its climax, both women traded counters. Alexa avoided an Asuka Lock and nearly stole the win with a roll-up. Asuka responded with a roundhouse kick and multiple submission attempts—including a triangle choke and Rings of Saturn—but Bliss refused to quit.
In the closing moments, Alexa hit a dropkick to Asuka who was trapped in the Tree of Woe and attempted a second Twisted Bliss. However, Asuka got her knees up, stunning Bliss. Asuka then followed up with a running hip attack and secured the three-count victory.
With the win, Asuka now moves on to the Queen of the Ring finals at Night of Champions, where she will face the winner of next week’s WWE RAW semifinal match between Jade Cargill and Roxanne Perez.
