Savio Vega Confirms New Role as WWE Producer for AAA Integration Project – Puerto Rican wrestling icon Savio Vega has officially confirmed that he’s now working with WWE in a backstage role tied to the company’s integration of AAA. Speaking on Ten Count Media, Vega revealed that he is serving as a producer—or agent—on behalf of WWE, specifically for the ongoing AAA project. His comments further clarify WWE’s expanding relationship with the Mexican promotion, which the company officially acquired in April 2025.
“Well, yeah, I’m working as an agent with the company, with this project so, all this is gonna be the big move with the company and them,” Vega said. “AAA’s gonna become full with WWE. So, let’s see what happens. We go step by step.”
Vega’s involvement appears to be more than just short-term or ceremonial. While he’s made well-received cameo appearances for WWE in recent years—most notably at Backlash 2023 in Puerto Rico and the Worlds Collide event earlier this year—this new role places him firmly behind the scenes as WWE continues to consolidate AAA under its creative and operational umbrella.
The veteran star also hinted that he hasn’t entirely ruled out stepping into the ring again. “I’m happy with being back and working with this talent… I’m working for WWE, you know, on this project… I’m gonna be as a producer. Hope something happen (in-ring-wise). Anything could happen. You there, you’re still alive so you’re good for something. So, I believe if it’s there, I’m welcome. Why not?”
Vega’s presence is expected to help facilitate cultural and stylistic transitions between WWE and AAA talent, especially as the two brands begin deeper creative integration. His experience in both U.S. and Latin American wrestling scenes makes him a valuable asset during this pivotal merger.
