Kiana James Nearing WWE Return – Kiana James is reportedly nearing a return to in-ring competition following a year-long absence due to injury. According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the RAW superstar has made significant progress in her recovery and is expected to be back soon.
James has been out of action since June 17, 2024, when she competed in a Triple Threat Money in the Bank qualifying match against IYO SKY and Zelina Vega on Monday Night RAW. That match marked her final appearance before sustaining a serious leg injury that required surgery and extensive rehabilitation.
The injury came at a critical moment in her WWE career. Having been drafted from NXT to RAW during the 2024 WWE Draft just two months earlier, James was in the midst of a promising main roster debut. She had already made a strong impression by defeating Natalya in her first match after the move. Unfortunately, her momentum was cut short.
By September 2024, internal WWE documentation listed James under the company’s “miscellaneous” roster—a designation typically used for injured or inactive talent. At the time, her recovery was estimated to take at least six months, which has since extended due to the severity of the injury.
Now, nearly a year removed from her last match, James is reportedly in the final stages of her recovery process. While no official return date has been announced, the latest update suggests her comeback is imminent. WWE may choose to reintroduce her on television in the coming weeks, possibly aligning her return with a summer storyline or event build.
James’ return will bring a fresh face back to the RAW women’s division, which continues to evolve following the WWE Draft and recent call-ups from NXT.
