Roman Reigns Return Not Expected Until June – Roman Reigns has been absent from WWE television since his appearance on the RAW following WrestleMania 41. That night, Reigns and CM Punk attempted to get payback against Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman, but were ambushed by Rollins and Bron Breakker. This post-WrestleMania confrontation served as a way to write Reigns off TV, and there has been no sign of “The Tribal Chief” since.
While WWE has yet to confirm an official return date for Reigns, recent reports indicate that fans will have to wait a bit longer. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Reigns’ return isn’t imminent.
“I guess no Roman Reigns—they’re probably saving that for later. Roman Reigns isn’t coming back for a while. Exactly when, I’m not sure, but it’s not going to be for a while. That’s the Saturday Night Main Event, and that’s another weekend where they’re going to be running; they have the Saturday Night’s Main Event, and then they’re going to follow with the NXT show. The Saturday Night’s Main Event will be the same day as All In: Texas, and then the NXT show will be the next day. That next weekend is going to be a loaded, a really loaded weekend of shows.,” Meltzer said.
His continued absence comes as WWE builds toward several major events, including next week’s Saturday Night’s Main Event, which will feature Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker vs. CM Punk and Sami Zayn. Reigns’ name was notably left out of that announcement, further signaling his extended time away.
Meltzer also pointed out that the Saturday Night’s Main Event episode will air the same day as AEW’s All In: Texas, with an NXT show following the next day. That weekend is shaping up to be one of the busiest of the season for professional wrestling, with WWE running major shows in close proximity to AEW’s big event.
As of now, all indications suggest Reigns will not be part of any of WWE’s programming until at least early June, barring any surprise appearances.
