Roman Reigns Says WWE Contract Ends After WrestleMania 42, Plans Move to Acting Career – Roman Reigns has confirmed that his current WWE contract is set to expire after WrestleMania 42 in 2026, and he already has his eyes set on life after the ring.
In a newly published feature by Vanity Fair, Reigns, real name Joe Anoa’i, discussed his future with WWE, stating that he expects to step away from in-ring competition once his current deal concludes. Reigns signed a multi-year contract extension in 2022, which allowed him to work a lighter schedule in exchange for a higher salary.
“After I finish the contract that I’m in, we probably got another year or two max,” Reigns told Vanity Fair. “Then it’s time to take on a less physical form of entertainment.”
Reigns has made previous forays into Hollywood, with appearances in films such as Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. He said he’s interested in pursuing more acting opportunities but wants to take a selective approach to the roles he accepts.
“I almost want to model it after (Quentin) Tarantino, where we’re not just doing anything and everything. I want to really plot out: I want this one, I want that one,” Reigns said, signaling a desire to curate his post-wrestling career carefully.
The Vanity Fair interview also touched on the ongoing fallout from allegations levied against former WWE CEO and Chairman Vince McMahon. Reigns referred to the situation as a “stain” on WWE and offered support to Janel Grant, the woman who filed the lawsuit against McMahon.
“She’s got to live with all these situations that happened and hopefully she’s in a place where she feels comfortable and she’s secure in her own place,” Anoa’i said. “It’s embarrassing. That’s stuff you don’t want to hear about. You don’t want your family to hear about.”
Reigns added that McMahon reached out to him last year to wish him a happy birthday, but confirmed that McMahon has otherwise distanced himself from WWE.
Roman Reigns remains one of the most prominent faces in WWE and will likely continue to be a major player until his contract concludes in 2026.
