CM Punk Removed from WWE Night of Champions Saudi Arabia Promo – As noted, CM Punk was briefly featured in the promotional video for WWE’s Night of Champions Premium Live Event, scheduled for June 28, 2025, in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. His inclusion immediately drew attention due to his previously well-documented criticism of WWE’s partnership with the Kingdom.
Prior to his WWE return in late 2023, Punk had spoken out forcefully against the company’s business dealings with Saudi Arabia. In 2020, during a Twitter exchange regarding The Miz’s involvement in a Saudi event, Punk referred to WWE’s agreement with the country as “blood money,” and explicitly stated that he would “never go” to shows in the Kingdom.
However, when recently asked whether he hated Saudi Arabia, Punk appeared to walk back his past remarks, stating, “I’ve never been to Saudi, I don’t hate coming to Saudi.” This response left some wondering if his stance had changed and whether he would participate in the upcoming event.
In an update, the official Riyadh Season X account shared a revised version of the promotional video. Notably, Punk was removed and replaced by Seth Rollins, suggesting a potential shift in WWE’s plans or further clarification on Punk’s involvement—or lack thereof. This alteration now casts serious doubt on whether Punk will appear at Night of Champions at all.
WWE Night of Champions marks the company’s only visit to Saudi Arabia in 2025, as Crown Jewel has been moved to Australia and the Royal Rumble is scheduled to be held in the Kingdom in early 2026.
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his status for the Saudi event, CM Punk remains active on WWE programming. He is currently scheduled to wrestle at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 25, where he will team with Sami Zayn to take on Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker.
