Tony Khan Reacts to AEW Dynamite Beach Break Ratings – Tony Khan took to X to thank fans following this week’s AEW Dynamite: Beach Break, which drew the best ratings for the program so far in 2025. The May 14 episode averaged 682,000 viewers with a 0.17 rating in the 18–49 key demographic, according to Nielsen data.
AEW President Khan posted shortly after the numbers were released, writing:
“Thank you all who watched Wednesday Night AEW Dynamite Beach Break last night. The most watched Dynamite of 2025, most viewers on TBS since September, which was before we added Max audience [plus] most important it was a great Dynamite!”
While the numbers represent a positive development, particularly when compared to Dynamite’s recent weekly trends, the spike is relatively modest. The average Dynamite viewership for 2025 prior to this episode stood at approximately 616,000 viewers, with a steady 0.17 key demo rating—meaning the key demo stayed flat despite the overall increase in viewers.
It’s also worth noting that AEW Dynamite has previously neared this viewership level several times in recent months, limiting the broader impact of the May 14 boost. Nonetheless, Beach Break featured a more stacked lineup and thematic branding, which may have contributed to the uptick.
Khan highlighted that it marked the most viewers for Dynamite on TBS since September 2024, prior to AEW’s expansion onto the Max streaming platform. However, the actual benefit from streaming metrics on Max remains unclear, as Warner Bros. Discovery does not publicly release Max viewership figures for live AEW programming.
While AEW will take the milestone as a win, the company will likely need to build on this momentum in the coming weeks if it hopes to significantly improve its year-over-year TV performance.
