Big Tag Team Match Announced for Saturday Night’s Main Event – CM Punk opened the May 12 edition of WWE RAW with his first in-ring promo since WrestleMania 41, unleashing a raw and emotional tirade aimed at Paul Heyman, Seth Rollins, and himself. The self-proclaimed “Best in the World” wasted no time expressing his anger, declaring that the person he’s most upset with is himself for trusting Heyman once again.
Referencing their tumultuous history dating back to 2013, Punk described Heyman as a “fat little snake” who had once again betrayed him. Punk then turned his attention to Seth Rollins, criticizing him for aligning with Heyman and calling out the architect of The Shield for exploiting Heyman’s betrayal to regain leverage in the title picture.
As Punk continued berating his former mentor, Paul Heyman rushed toward the ring, seemingly in a panic. Before he could speak, Punk demanded an explanation for his betrayal at WrestleMania. Rollins then interrupted and directed harsh words at Punk, accusing him of making Heyman’s life a “living hell” and blaming him for costing him the World Heavyweight Championship.
Rollins escalated tensions by accusing Punk of always playing the victim and desperately wanting to be seen as a martyr. Rollins then introduced Bron Breakker, sending the former NXT Champion to the ring to attack Punk. A chaotic brawl ensued, with Punk initially holding his ground before the numbers game took over. Sami Zayn ran in from the crowd with a steel chair to assist Punk, but Rollins and Breakker continued to gain the upper hand.
Jey Uso then stormed the ring, evening the odds. Together, Punk, Zayn, and Uso managed to drive Rollins and Breakker out of the ring. Following the melee, WWE announced that CM Punk and Sami Zayn will team up at Saturday Night’s Main Event on May 24 to face Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker in tag team competition. This marks the first official pairing of Rollins and Breakker since their alliance formed in April.
With Punk now fully immersed in this rivalry, tensions are sure to escalate in the coming weeks, especially with Heyman’s betrayal still fresh and unresolved.
